The Ghana Photonics and Optics Laboratory presented a series of donations to participating schools at the Light Up Ghana outreach as part of its ongoing commitment to strengthening photonics and STEM education across the country. Each school received photonics kits designed to enhance the teaching and learning of optics and photonics. Several of these instructional materials were produced by DEXT Technologies, while others were developed in-house by the Photonics Team at KNUST to align with the concepts introduced during the outreach demonstrations and the academic curriculum of these high schools.

A major donation was made to the Ghana Christian International High School (GCIHS), the host institution for the main outreach program. In recognition of the school’s partnership and logistical support in accommodating the GPOL team and participating schools, GPOL presented GCIHS with an extensive collection of photonics kits and a Photonics Explorer Kit (PEK). The headmaster of GCIHS expressed his profound gratitude, noting that the equipment would be integrated into the school’s science programs to bolster student competence and enthusiasm in optics and photonics. He further encouraged GPOL to continue its nationwide STEM outreach efforts and affirmed the school’s readiness to host similar initiatives in the future.
